How Christ Consciousness Makes Your Every Day Life Better

by Alexis Neely - Posted in Christ Consciousness, Life |

Yesterday, I took a big bold step and wrote about Christ Consciousness. Several people unsubscribed.  More people than have ever unsubscribed from a single post I’ve written before.

I’ve been sitting with that and doing the work necessary internally to not let it deter me from continuing to write about what feels so true and important in my heart and soul, even if it is misunderstood by many.

I probably would have unsubscribed too if one of the bloggers I read for guidance about life and business started talking about God and Jesus.

And that’s where the confusion exists.

Christ Consciousness isn’t about Jesus. It’s about you. And me. And the way we relate. And that impacts every part of your life, from your business, to your relationships, to your financial situation, to your ultimate happiness.

When I am operating from the Christ Consciousness, I give more. I forgive more. I let in more love, connection, harmony, possibility and abundance.

And guess what? All of that translates into a better life. Period.

My business hit a million bucks in revenue for the first time when I decided to get beyond the anger at my husband (despite so many people around me telling me I was nuts to forgive), stop fighting to win and just agree to give him the alimony and child support he was asking for instead of withholding, negotiating and making myself small so he wouldn’t think I had much.

Every fiber in my being resisted. My ego said “no way” should I give him what he was asking for after all he had done. It said I should play small, withhold, protect what I had and convince him and his attorney that I didn’t have enough to pay him much.

Fortunately, Christ Consciousness stepped in. My higher self said forgive, give more than you think is possible, trust. That part of me that knows what’s true and real and good and beautiful said “ask him what he needs to feel safe and give him that, you can make enough.”

So I did.  It wasn’t easy, but I did it anyway because I knew it was really the only path to what I really wanted — harmony, peace, love, abundance, prosperity, connection.

At the time I agreed to hand over $4,000 each month, I really did not know where that money would come from. But I said yes anyway and I was rewarded.

That year my business hit a million bucks in revenue and I did have enough. I want to be clear here; there was no indication my business would hit a million dollars a year when I said yes.  It only came after my yes.

Today, my ex and I co-parent our kids. We live mostly in harmony and co-operation.  In fact, as I write this he is here helping our kids clean their room and doing laundry.  Tonight we will have dinner as a family and play a game afterward.

That never would have been possible had my higher self not showed up and rescued me from what was almost certain to be a descent into fear-based thinking, a win-lose paradigm and ultimately a business that probably would have remained mediocre or even failed as a result. Not to mention, my ex and I would have remained locked in a battle for apparently limited resources.

But it turned out, those resources were not limited at all.  When I dropped my limited thinking and action, my resources became abundant and full.

That is Christ Consciousness in action.

When we each tap into this Consciousness (which is equally available to all, no matter our religion, race, creed or financial status), there IS enough for all, there is more than enough for everyone on the planet, there is no lack of resources, there is plenty.

How would you be different today if you knew deep in the core of your soul that there is enough? What would you do differently?  Who would you give more to? Who would you forgive? How would you embody the Christ Consciousness in your own life?

It’s despicable that you are now using Jesus to sell your products. I didn’t think you could go any lower, but you have. God help us all.

  • Susanna Maida

Hey Ali, first and foremost I bow to you for having the immense courage
to speak what’s emerging as truth for you, regardless of whether it’s
popular or will be well received by those in your current tribe.

After shining your light of truth this last year-plus and being
personally and professionally transparent so that others could learn
from the journey you’ve taken, now you’re choosing to publicly speak
aspects of the larger truth of our evolving world.  Again and again I’m
humbled by your willingness to do this.

No doubt you could have found other language with which to talk about
the energy of Christ Consciousness.  But you chose provocative language
and there’s a real element of leadership in that.  Ours is a time to
jolt people out of old ways of thinking that are part of the problem.

The message of Barbara Marx Hubbard and others like her is not
necessarily a popular one with many people.  And yet I’ve noticed that
many who speak that message do so to some version of “the choir”.

For whatever reason, you feel the call to bring it to a wider audience
that you have access to.  This is an incredible gift you are giving.
You’ll certainly find your own groove with it as you go.  And there’s no
way it’s going to be welcomed by everyone you offer it to.

Blessings to you, intrepid truth-telling warrior of the heart.  I’m
standing with you and for you on your world-changing mission.

  • I think any time we use the word God or Jesus or “name” something spiritual using a religious term, it’s going to set people off.

Some of this is because there have been a lot of liars through the years peddling their bullshit wares in the name of God and Jesus. The Jim and Tammy Faye Bakkers of the world, and a lot of LOA people.

I even saw someone (who you know) stand on stage at her event and close $100,000 in sales in 10 minutes by telling the audience of heart-based entrepreneurs that “God told me during prayer a few weeks ago that we were supposed to charge a lower the price” when her speaking guest’s sales tactic flopped. (My response was, “So what you’re saying is that GOD told you to charge $100 less, but you charged the higher price anyway? Really? If God told me to charge a certain price, I think I’d most likely listen …” My Inner Skeptic smelled a rat.)Some of it, too, is because people believe Jesus = poverty. (There are more Bible verses about money than about love, believe it or not, and this is a fallacy.) Money and Jesus in the same blog post feels off to them.I think first and foremost you should tell the truth — and if this is your truth, great! I have only read a few of your posts before, and I have not heard you refer to the experience you describe (forgiveness and surrender) as Christ Consciousness before. Are you naming your experience now? Is it something BMH uses to describe it? Is it from a book you read (I believe there was a book introducing that term about 15 years ago, but I can’t remember the title or the author). It’s my experience that the more you are willing to state what you believe out loud, the more unsubscribes you will get … and at the same time, the people who stick around turn out to be even more loyal and respect you more.

Tell the truth … it will set you free. Always.

  • I think it is cool you shared a personal story like this and shared the source of your strength to endure and even triumph. Good post.

Hi Beth, check out this post/video from last Easter: http://www.alexismartinneely.com/truth-resurrection-consciousness/

Christ consciousness is something I have had in my awareness and it comes from a combination of my time at Agape in Los Angeles, things I’ve read from Marianne Williamson, and I think a Course in Miracles.  I believe Barbara (BMH) does also use the term though not as much publicly.

It was one of those things that as soon as I heard it, I knew the truth of it deep within.  Even though I was raised Jewish, agnostic, I was always drawn to Jesus.  I’ve often said (privately) that Jesus is my guru. 🙂

My hope is that we can evolve the collective understanding of Christ Consciousness and see it for what it really is — a possibility for each one of us to stand in the truth of our own power as children of God.

  • Anonymous

LOL, thank you.  I’m not selling anything here.  My intention is to raise our collective consciousness so we can love more, forgive more, give more because I see is as the one hope we have for the future of our planet.  Perhaps we can start right here.  Can you love more right now?

Thank you Susanna.  Yes, perhaps I could have found other language, but the message I received during my meditation yesterday morning was loud and clear — share the message of Christ Consciousness.  It’s scary for me, but I am committed to it because I know it is the way and really has nothing to do with our collective understanding of Jesus.

  • Elizabeth Crouch

    I totally understand and
align with Christ Consciousness ..  I learned much about Christ Consciousness from Rev.Dr. Kathianne Lewis @ CSL Seattle — http://www.spiritualliving.org/I’m a spiritual person but absolutely not religious. And frankly, I rarely attend anyone’s church except to hear exquisite music or an enlightened lecture … or participate in cooking food for our homeless community!  I think many confuse some aspects of Christ Consciousness – those aspects of abiding
love, forgiveness, deep compassion, respect, resilience, redemption — with odd
and weird religious expression we have in some segments of our culture.

    Additionally, I’ve
known Alexis and her work for several years now – I promise you, I do know the
distinctions of her invitations, offers, products/courses/etc for sale .. this
is not one of them. Truth be told, I’m observing a growing vulnerability,
responsibility, maturity in Alexis .. she’s not twisting anyone’s arm here.  Hmmm, her expression of forthright spirit is
far more truthful and refreshing than many we hear, including ministers,
priests, gurus or televangelists as they beckon or shame us into ‘giving’.

  • Elizabeth Crouch

Meant to say that I am not a religious person. My previous post mad it sound like Rev. Dr. Kathianne Lewis is not. That said, I thing even she would agree that she is a very spiritual woman too.

Alexis….I met you at Max Simon’s event in February 2010. I have been opening AND READING you recent blogs. Truth. Truth. Truth. It’s about F!@#$% time someone in your field started being transparent & honest about how you get to where you are. For as long as you are willing to open the door & bare all I will continue to read & listen. We all have so much to learn. Thank YOU for these messages. My Everyday Life IS better.
    Much Love. India

  • I work predominantly with the divine feminine, but am familiar with the concept of Christ Consciousness, and I, too, apply it in my business and sometimes share it with my subscribers. Similarly, I had to release a lot of anger directed toward an ex, so that it would not block my ability to florish. As co-creators of new economy, we cannot work with the union of receptive and projective energetic flow in our business in any form until we are able to hold space for both the feminine and masculine within ourselves. This integration not only affects our personal relationships, but affects the individuals we draw to ourselves as clients and VAs and JV partners. If we do not get the lessons one way, we get them another! To be a spiritual entrepreneur requires courage. Thanks for yours.

  • Ali, first of all, I loved what you wrote about Christ-consciousness. I too love Jesus as my wisdom teacher and feel so passionate about re-visiting his message and learning to understand what he really taught. Jesus was a passionate Jew who had discovered his own divinity within himself, hence the “Christ-consciousness”.
The above statement alone makes me a spiritual but not religious person. Yet, over the years there has been so much damage done to the world and our souls in the name of Jesus and a punishing God that it will take a lot of compassion and love to tell the story anew in a way that can be heard through broken hearts.Never-the-less, we need a new paradigm to save our souls and our planet.  Trying to solve it on the same plane we created our problems will not do!I believe with all my (non-religious) heart that recognizing our own inner divinity and then living through the qualities of Christ (which are the attributes of God such as Compassion, Love, Power, Wisdom, Forgiveness, Peace etc.) as often as we can, is the ONLY way to new creative solutions to old problems. That applies to EVERY element of our lives, incl. our work.  As a recovering workaholic I try to live this way through Sacred Productivity, trying to live in the creative flow of Love (which really is the Christ-consciousness you talk about).  I also believe that more and more people can and will hear this message as we’re running out of ideas on how to run faster, do more, solve world-problems and even grow businesses that are deeply meaningful.May your truth-telling be effective and your messages be heard,Love Christiane

I wish your truth telling self and Christ Conciousness and ego would just get over yourself, and you would pay your bills! What about INTEGRITY? You KNOW you owe money, then pay it!
Tell the TRUTH, it will set you free, always!

  • Yes, I have taken on quite a lot debt to invest in my businesses and I am handling that with integrity and telling the truth by talking about the debt and the mistakes I made along the way publicly.

I believe all of this occurred so I could truly help others in a way that I could not when I was always successful and appeared to perfect. So this has all been a humbling and necessary experience, one I am not hiding from.

Currently, my businesses are making enough money to support my family and the people who work for my businesses, but I am no longer willing to take on the workload or charge the prices I was in the past, therefore, revenue is down and I am not paying on my debt.  Instead, I am focusing on cleaning up some messes created from being spread too thin and not knowing what I didn’t know.  And I am sharing all of that with my community so they can learn from my mistakes too.  I do thank you for your concern.

  • Alexis,
We don’t know one another, but I’m absolutely holding space for you energetically.
    Blessings,
    Sherri

  • Tatyana

You are honest. People who pretend all is good do it because they truly dont see how valuable they are . Alexis I only met u once. I.admire you have courage to accept mistakes. Honestly…. We all have been covered with poop but and made mistakes. But that poop is a fertilizer of your growth. Alexis I say you can rebuild everything. I know you can. we all can as long as we see our real value. our worth is what we allow to be.

I am not a perfect biz owner. I believe we should not strive to impress anyon. e.. god knows youNo need to prove to anyone. By comitting to yourself you comitt to other.

    Best Tatyana Gann

Alexis, this blog just made my day. Thank you soooo much! The concept of forgiveness has been largely forgotten, I believe, in this day and age.
Could you maybe write a blog post, speaking as a lawyer, about how forgiveness/Christ Consciousness ties in with the excessive litigation/lawsuits we see in society? How have you reconciled your litiguous profession/legal training and your embrace of Christ consciousness? I think if you have connect the dots, perhaps more folks would understand the seeming contradiction of lawyers embracing Christ consciousness. Thanks!

  • Concerned Mom

“Currently, my businesses are making enough money to support my family and the people who work for my businesses,” except for my daughter, who you employed and have acknowledged to owe over a thousand dollars to. Where is your truth and integrity in this situation?
I find you to be a farce, a liar, and a cheat. Maybe you should research “karma”

  • GS

It seems to me that you’re jumping around an awful lot from post to post, month to month, etc.  Getting clear in life, in my opinion, is about being humble and slowly making progress. Getting clearer is about being more aware, relaxing, paying attention.

Much of what you say has a ring to me of someone who hasn’t become very clear yet and still has a lot to learn.  And sometimes that means staying quiet until things have gotten a little more in focus for me.

  • Ruth, I appreciate your
perspective, but Corina was not hired by me, she was hired by a gal I
was working with for a short time, specifically to work under her.  When Rachel decided to move on, Corina was exploring the possibly of going into partnership with me, Anna and Corey (my long time biz managers) and continued to do some work (at what appears to me to be a very low level) while we negotiated that agreement.  I believe Corina’s negativity and poor attitude resulted in that agreement not moving forward.  Nevertheless, I have agreed to pay Corina for the amount Rachel agreed upon, even though I did not benefit from her work in anyway and it in fact cost me time and energy to go back and fix what she did not do correctly.  I will pay Corina (even though I did not hire her, did not benefit from the work she did, feel that her negative attitude cost me time and money and she has quit without notice on me twice before) when the company has the
resources to do so.  As of right now, we are in rebuilding phase and the company only has resources to support its
current employees and vendors. The company is not even paying me at
this time. If you or Corina would like to appear on my
show (every Tuesday at 10am PT) to discuss this matter, we would be happy to host you and
hash this issue out publicly.    And Ruth I understand you have only heard Corina’s perspective on this and she is your daughter, so of course you would feel the way you do.  But have you considered that it is perhaps Corina’s karma that has created the situation as it is?  I invited Corina to live in my home, employed her three times despite her quitting twice without notice and handling an event for me poorly and have always encouraged her to speak her truth, communicate directly and ask for what she wants.  I have never treated her with anything but kindess, love and respect.  I wish the same in return. The situation is as it is right now and it’s not how I would want it to be either, but I can assure you that handling it like this will not get any of us what we want.  I invite you to another possibility.

  • Concerned Mom

You can slice it and dice it any way you like, you’re a master of the shell game. I’m sure she would dispute most of what you’ve just printed about her. But the TRUTH is: you owe her that money. (you have acknowledged as much) And she HAS asked you directly for it, repeatedly, for months now. By not paying her, you certainly show her NO kindness, love, or respect. I invite YOU to find your integrity, and simply pay her.

  • As I’ve said Ruth, Corina will be paid when the money is available despite the fact that I do not owe her anything.  And she has not asked me repeatedly for months — this all just happened one month ago.

How can you  have Christ consciousness that ‘isn’t about Jesus’? You  have a contradiction at the very basis. Either you’re with Him or not. You’re distorting a life-saving teaching and it is dangerous for yourself, first of all. I don’t think you realize what is at stake. This is dishonest in its foundation. Christ was honest.
I suggest you do a long process of research and see for yourself what I’m talking about.
If you want a message of love, here it was.

Wow, this is quite the thread! Here’s what I HAVE to add in order to be fully in my truth. I’ve watched and listened as Ali has received many high fives and just as many (or more) punches from speaking her truth and being fully transparent.

As someone who previously worked closely with her in her businesses (not that long ago), I can absolutely vouch for her integrity. Is she a perfect person who makes all great decisions all the time? No absolutely not – NONE of us are. However, she is someone who reveals all and she does it publicly so anyone who is listening can learn and grow and maybe even feel more connected to being human. In my time on her team, she never once failed to pay her team and she never beat them up on their rates.

What really ‘gets’ to me is how many people judge her (and others) so harshly for telling the truth and sing praises for others who are seemingly so pure in intention when the reality is that the people gathering the praise are the ones who are way out of integrity – they’re just great at hiding the ‘ugly’ so no one sees it. It’s hitting a particularly raw nerve because I’ve recently worked with one of these shining examples. It’s been crazy to me to see how rich the rewards are for someone so out of alignment with the truth.

With having these two examples so close together, I’ve been hyper aware at how people really want the smokey mirrors so they can choose to see what they want – it seems to give them more hope. It makes me sad to see where people put their faith and how they do so against their very own instincts and truth.

Truth IS where it’s at and only by seeing that will we have the chance to grow and become who we really are. We don’t have to agree with what’s true for others but we also don’t have to slay them for it.

Just saw this post, Alexis. As I’ve said before, He is the ultimate answer and absolute truth. when you find Him fully, you will search no more. He will grow you from glory to glory and faith to faith until. It is a *very* personal, special, beautiful journey and relationship, not a distant way of being or “consciousness.” He is as real as night and day. You will see. It’s a whole other world and life when it all clicks. 🙂

love this….and the transparency and integrity of your responses below.  Thankyou

I am a practical pragmatical logical person with a distinctive spiritual side. I was raised into christianity. I learn mostly by experience. My experience teaches me that sometimes even energy lies, and we are all mistaken at some point. That aside, I had enough experience to teach me that there is a huge gap between Christianity and Spirtuality. Sure, there are people that claim spirituality but the term implies that spiritual people commune with the non physical world. That being said, because of my experiences in life, those using terms like christ conciousness are just reshaping the christian religion for the benefit of the unwary. There are people that have had enough of Christianity and they avoid such terminology and for good reason. The idea that a mediator is YOUR conciousness is a bit deplorable. Christians dont understand we are all connected, they chose Jesus, even the pentecostals only understand it partially.

  • Brianna LaPoint

Ah one more thing, after Eliot rodgers, the duggar family and all the hoo ha that has been recently put into light, i hope there are more people on the skeptical side when it comes to christ conciousness thinking.
